Thanks for Nothing

Pinterest is the bane of my existence.  (Maybe that's extreme but go with it)  I have found so many awesome things I want to cook, create, do, try, whatever.  Unfortunately, LIFE doesn't let that happen.  I mean seriously, WHO has time for this crap?

I started this wreath, then I learned that it takes about 5 minutes to make EACH swirly thingy.  I got 1/8th of the way through my wreath and gave up.
Here is my attempt.  It has been banished to the pile of crap (one of many) in our guest bedroom/pile o' crap room

This is a totally awesome idea.  I can sew too.  But I don't have the time or money to buy the fabric and make it.

Now this I want to try...just need to drink more wine! No actual problem there.  : )
These are SO adorable.  But who has time in the morning to make the biscuits? Or whatever they are?
Doesn't this just look like a DELICIOUS heart attack waiting to happen?
I thought this was just hilarious.  Those of you who haven't had babies...this is a pretty good rendition...only you feel like this for WEEKS....MONTHS!
We LOVE Scrabble.  I mean...we will turn off our favorite TV show, put the baby to bed (when he actually will sleep) or just ignore him and play Scrabble.  Unfortunately, I need tools, time, paint, and a non-sand ridden, dog poopy yard that I don't have to do this.
THIS.....is a small section of our lovely backyard.  I was too embarrassed to take a picture of the whole thing.  As you can see we have 4 foot tall weeds, a moat dug out by the dogs, fencing with rope and bungee cords tied to it.  (The rope is attached to a big blue tarp that is hanging from the over hang of the room.  It shades the back of our house from the pungent sun and keeps it from turning our house into a sauna.  The fencing was originally there to keep the dogs out of a portion of our yard.  They landscaped that area too.)
I actually did this one because it took me about an hour.  The colors weren't nearly as pretty (I think they photo shopped this stuff) and they got further bleached by the sun because I live on AN ISLAND.
 As you can see.
I have one of these which causes me to NOT be able to so anything else.  But I love him beyond measures.
By the way...they are not gay.  Sesame Street issued a statement recently.
I would LOVE to paint our desk this color.  But that means moving all the junk out and off of the desk, finding a pseudo home for it.  Sanding, HEAT, money, priming, HEAT, sweat, money, painting, HEAT, sweat, painting again, HEAT, moving all things back.  We're talking months here people...unless its those magical few days it cools and DE-humidifys here.  Like were talking 2 days out of the year.

I actually DO do this.  Did you know you can chop and freeze green onions??  I occasionally buy them for a recipe and they always go bad before I can even use them.  I don't store them in a stupid water bottle (Glad baggie for me), but it totally works!!
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE pumpkins.  It's weird.  It's almost a fetish.  I love fall or autumn time.  I love the cooler weather (not really here but in Oklahoma and where I was originally from), the changing of the leaves (yet again, the palm trees don't change color), and the pumpkins.  This is a dryer duct vent thingy painted orange.  Don't make fun, but I seriously asked for the items to make this for my anniversary which is tomorrow.  HOPE I GET IT, HONEY!!!!! ;)

This of course is not all the cool, adorable, awesome things I want to try.  But many times checking out Pinterest leads to depression and a lack of a sense of accomplishment.  But then I look at my son and it's cured.  (and my diploma on the wall from the greatest University on the planet.)

Unfinished Business

Do you have this habit?  Do you get something done in your house, completely finished, except for one small thing?  Do you let those small, unfinished things pile up until is creates another project for you to do?  Let me illustrate.

This is the broom I left out after sweeping the floors so I could mop them.  (I know..I have a baby that crawls on the floor so he should just mop them with his body.  However, when we sits up and puts his fingers in his mouth and his poor little hands are covered in dog hair, dirt, and whatever else is all over our floor, guilt takes over.  Not to mention I walk around barefoot and I can't stand walking all over that junk and getting it stuck to the bottoms of my feet.)  Moving on:
This is the pile of dirt/sand from the kitchen floor that I swept up into the corner with the broom I left out.  Yes, I left it there.  It's about 5 steps to where the dust pan is to sweep it up.  But I didn't do it.  Next:
This is the pile of clothes from our bedroom floor that I picked up to be able to sweep then mop our floor.  It's still there.  I mopped on Monday.  (To be completely honest, half this pile has been sitting there for weeks...and weeks...................and weeks.)  How about another:
Here is the laundry basket full of more crap.  It's the junk I picked up from the floor in the kitchen, living room, dining room (it's one giant room).  It's still sitting on my kitchen table.
Here is the mop and bucket I used to mop the floors with.  Still sitting around.

Now this is by no means the only things left around.  But as you can see, I swept, mopped, picked up our bedroom floor, but for some reason I just can't seem to finish completely what I start.  Now, I will spend probably an hour putting all of these things away along with the other junk that I just never finished.  Half finished curtains sitting on the kitchen table, yesterdays dirty dishes I haven't put in the dish washer, my coffee cup from yesterday morning still sitting on my desk, the wine glass from two days ago still sitting here (don't worry, there's several clean glasses in my house, so don't think a dirty glass will hinder my consumption), the hose is still unraveled all over the sidewalk after I watered the plants.

I need a maid.  Any takers??  I can pay you in smiles (from me and the Munchkin), dish washing liquid from my couponing, trips to the beach, and dead roaches hiding somewhere.

My pet roach

He ended up staying in the corner of my ceiling till about 10:00p.m.  Then the hubs got smart and got one of our kayak paddles to reach him.  That little bugger is fast.  I seem to remember roaches being able to go 30 m.p.h. or something.  So he fell off the ceiling, chased me (I couldn't scream like a little girl because the Munchkin was sleeping.)  So then we chased him behind our desk.  I went to get roach spray and we poked at him from behind the desk, he came out and I sprayed him.  Then we went behind the carseat in the corner of the kitchen.  I don't know what happened to him after that.  I figured I'll just leave him until the spray works it's magic.  As I sit here typing this, I don't see him behind the carseat anymore.  He's probably crawling under the desk towards my leg as I type.  Blegh.

Periplaneta americana

See that black thing?  Lets get a little closer.....

Yea...that's a roach.  It's camped out in the highest part of the ceiling in my house.  That part is about 14 feet high.  Too far to spray with spray (and I would just douse myself.)  Too far to smack it with a broom.  Even if I stood on a chair with my broom and tried to smack it, I would probably miss and it would fly at me.  I would scream like a little girl, losing my balance, fall off the chair onto the awaiting hard baby toys on the floor.  So...I wait...

(more updates on the roach when he decides to go on the move...)

**It has now been 8 hours since I've noticed him...he's still there.  Sleeping apparently.  Well...at least one of us is sleeping.
***He's turned around now.  He is now facing the back of the house instead of the front.  It's 6:40p.m. and I think my little nocturnal friend is rousing.

Perfection

This is a cup of coffee.  The first I have brewed in this house in over 1.5 years.
This is one of the times I was woken up this morning...(it's blurry, because aren't you blurry eyed at this time in the morning, too?)

This is what I looked like at that time of day...

YIKES!

This is what I was greeted with.....

They say babies are supposed to sleep a lot.  Something like 14 hours a day give or take.  Yea, maybe in a perfect world, with a perfect kid (mine is perfect though), with perfect parents (we come close!!...HAHAHAH I'm really funny!).

Thus, this is what I drink in the morning:
